D3 updating tools stuck at 0
I start the launcher and it doesn't show anything but the phrase "Updating Tools (0%)" at the bottom with no progress even after having it open all night and the Play button grayed out...
Also when I tried to install Diablo 3 (real version) from I have it downloaded and installing it gets to a certain point halfway throughout the bar and stops with no further progress even after having it open an entire night as well...
We scoured the support forums for days, Googled, and had no luck until tonight. Choose Windows XP (Service Pack 3) (Note: Does not work on Vista.) Right Click the Icon, Run as Administrator. Delete your C:\Program Data\Blizzard Entertainment\Cache folder. Run the Downloader again, as administrator, and see if it gets past the “Updating Setup Files” window. Start the agent application manually and after that start Diablo III setup file in your Diablo-III-8370-en GB-Installer folder. Fix #4a – Clarification for Fix 4 by Garythe Oak 1.
Here is the fix that finally worked for Graev: Fix #1 Go to Control Panel Properties Change it from ‘Disabled’ to ‘Automatic’ Run your Diablo 3 setup as administrator and it should quickly go through Updating Setup Files and bring you to an install screen.

After pre-ordering tonight and downloading the client to be ready for Tuesday, we ran into the same problem and thought all hope was lost. Close it, and ctrl alt delete and end the “Agent” process. Go to C/programdata/battle.net/agent and run the “Agent” executable 4. An user on the forums posted his version of the C:\Program Data\Battle. All you have to do is replace his version with your old version, and hopefully everything should work (as it did for me).” -SCH from comments - Fix #5 Additional Notes: If you get a decryption error it means you probably didn’t finish the download. decryption error might also indicate a corrupt download.
Graev has Windows Vista and could not get past the “Updating Setup Files” little window that came up. ) This one worked for me: try and find the agent application in the folder (for example C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\battle.net\Agent). Check the folder you downloaded your files into for any that say . Run the downloader in the same directly you chose originally and it should fix the files automatically and/or finish downloading.
Long story short, i just installed a clean copy of genuine windows 7 home premium.I've tried rebooting multiple times but still nothing. Except I also had to go into windows update and click the "name" box in the top left, which let me deselect all the updates. It appears the Windows Update gets confused if it tries to update 120 things at once.I am really trying to avoid having to reinstall the OS again. Easy way Reinstall, and from now on set update to notify. After it comes up go to Windows Update and change it from auto-install to download and notify you to install. So clear it out with Flavius' method, and then do them in small batches. Last night, my computer automatically ran Windows Update when I turned it off. Except for totally random BSOD caused by (SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED). any dev who can solve this flashing problem I will appreciate a lot.. And i have call't 20 times with that people and than finally after a week i get the new one .. EDIT : i have call't vip service and they say i get a new phone in 24h so i hope they are right . i edit this post when i have the new phone yeah that is a big one problem bro.. if u have clockwork installed and update via lg mobile u stuck very bad at fw update screen..
